Kickstarter

Unfortunately for A Clockwork Melody, its Kickstarter did not gather enough funding for me to publish it on the schedule I had planned. I won't lie, it's disappointing, but this isn't the end of the project. I still have every intention of publishing this story as an ebook, but since the production costs will be coming out of my own wallet, I need time.

At this point, I don't know when the book will be published. The story itself is finished, and the only work I'm doing on it is minor editing and tweaking. All that I need, really, is the money. And since money is such a fickle thing in today's world, I unfortunately can't give you guys a better release date than, "soon".

I would have posted this update on Kickstarter, but I feel like now is a good time to share my disappointing experience with them; their website, for whatever reason, does not function as desired. Many of the text boxes did not work for me, such as the update page's text box, which is unfortunately why I did not post updates there. I don't mind, this is why I have a blog! But it can be very frustrating.

I also had my Kickstarter inbox plagued with spam accounts telling me to pay for advertising for my project... I'm not new to internet scams, so I didn't even bother clicking on these bit.ly links to these people's websites, to be quite honest. One guy, interestingly enough, claimed he was scouting for Huffington Post. Pro tip; don't claim to work for a newspaper, because you can easily Google their staff members.

With that said, I probably won't be using Kickstarter for future publishing attempts. As much as I hate to admit it, this story is too new, and not enough people know about it to care about it. I'll try again another day, and we'll just have to hope for the best. (:

Until then,

DJ
